
You can use fresh figs for this also, just take away the water as it already is quite juicy, especially now that it's fig season or simply soak dried figs overnight so they soften. The luscious sweet fruit are a great source of fiber and full of vitamins and minerals. It's actually one of the fruits that contains a high nutrient content.
Figs are rich in beta-carotene, and contains Vitamins A, C, E and K, also minerals such as calcium, copper and iron. A good source of potassium, they're great for preventing high blood pressure and helps control heart rate.
Raw Fig Jam 5 dried figs (soaked overnight) 4 TBS warm water 1 TBS coconut oil
1. Blend altogether until smooth paste, spread and enjoy!
I have a magic bullet that I use for little things that need to be blended such as dressings, jams and sauces. You can buy it online or from Target, they are portable and have cups you can carry around with you. It's a great little investment. |
